Baba Louie's

Review: Baba Louie's, Hudson, NY

Here is a link to my review of Baba Louie's in the Albany Times Union.

One note: I am sorry that I haven't been posting much recently. I love writing celinabean and the community I've found here, and it makes me sad to neglect it. I've been swamped with big writing projects (the paying kind) and also with chasing kids who are no longer in school. I promise to get back to a more regular schedule soon. Please don't give up on me.

I smell roadtrip!

Give up on you? NEVER !

There is a really embarrassing typo in the review. I spelled espresso wrong. I'm not sure how this happened except that sometimes I get words twisted in my head. Hopefully it will get fixed on line soon. But it is a sad thing to do this when writing about a place that is so focused on getting the details right. Shoot!

Celina,
We won't give up on you...ever. Thank goodness the TU had some wisdom in keeping you on for these "special assignments". Your reviews bring a realistic look to restaurants that the current food writers for the TU seem to overlook. You write for those of us that enjoy a great burger, pizza, bowl of minestrone as well as for those that want escargot, carmelized everything, and whatever is trendy that moment.
Typo's happen and shame on those that were so critical.

I will read whatever you write wherever it appears, but the pictures are better here! I still remember those pancakes! Have a great summer with the family!

Celina,
On vacation in the Berkshires, my family ate at the Baba Louie's on Main street. It was fabulous! --- especially the portabello mushroom salad. I have never tasted portabellos grilled like that. ( I assume they were grilled) Now, if I lived in Great Barrington, I'd be there once a week--but as it is a two and 1/2 hour trip, I'd like to ask if it is possible for you to get that recipe. They might share it with you, as you wrote such a great review. I'd be most appreciative. I understand that their professional grade ovens and grills probably have a lot to do with the taste and texture they get, but I'd love to give it a shot at home.
Thanks,
Gaby

Gaby, sorry to take so long to respond. I've been traveling a lot these past few weeks and having trouble keeping up. I will look into it and see what I can do. So glad you enjoyed Baba Louie's. I hope to get back there soon.

Celina, thanks for taking the time to explore this further. It is much appreciated. Hope we get lucky!

Thanks for the review. If I'm ever in the area, I will be sure to give Baba Louie's a try!
