Empanada shells: Alex, this one is for you

Alex asked me to find empanada shells. And he buttered me up with Star Wars quotes, and, really, who can resist a guy who quotes Star Wars? (Not me. I married a man who has a whole shelf devoted to David Eddings books.)

So Alex, here is your answer: The newly renovated Westgate Price Chopper has them, along with jerk sauce, real mirin, zaahtar, and all the other wonderful items they've crammed into their international sections. This obviously deserves its own post. But for now, there are three different varieties of frozen empanada shells in the Goya part of the freezer section. They go for around $2 a pack.

I didn't have my camera with me, so I bought some for a picture. Now, I suppose I will have to figure out how to make empanadas. My friend Joanna has a great recipe. Perhaps I can get her to put something up.

Anyone else got a suggestion?

A blog-post dedicated to me? Aw shucks. [blushing]

I'll have some empanadas for you this week; I insist.

Price Chopper, eh? Although we typically regard PC as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy." (A manager was brazenly rude to Cati once.) I guess we'll have to give 'em our $2 for the empanada shells this time; but that's all (yeah, we hold grudges like that).

Thanks for your help. You (and this website) are a gem.
