I stopped by Gade Farm yesterday and picked up a quart of tomatoes for a last hurrah dinner. When I got home, I noticed that the one lone strawberry plant in the front yard was having its own last hurrah.

Then I went out to the back yard, and there bursting out of a crowd of brown and wrinkled black-eyed Susans and weeds, I found this beauty.
